Lahti takes the cream

We're loving this... Roman Klementsov, of Finland’s Lahti Institute of Design, has won the Supreme Gold and Gold Star awards at the Student Starpack 2009 awards with his milk pack design.

Klementsov, a second-year product design student, picked up the awards at a ceremony at the IOM3 offices in central London last week for his pack design – a bottle which features a stand-up base in the shape of cow’s udders.

Lahti Institute of Design won the IOP: The Packaging Society’s Eric Dickens Memorial Award for the most successful college for the third year running.

Winners from UK institutions included Narut Ruthiraphong, of Central St Martins College of Art & Design, who won the Logoplaste Milk Pack Sponsor Award with a portable and easy-to-use milk bottle, while Sam Gretton, of Swindon College, won the Hasbro Sponsor Award for a new board game with his Brain Box concept. Gym2u shapes up with Love New Media

“Following a series of project wins from QMS Healthcare (Quality Medical Services), Love New Media are delighted to have been selected to develop the latest initiative from the QMS team namely 'Gym 2 u'.

QMS who are specialists in 'buying and selling private medical practices' are now looking to increase their portfolio with the exciting 'Gym 2 U' service.

The concept behind 'Gym 2 U' leverages on the healthcare expertise of the team at QMS as it aims to become a serious player in the growing market for personal fitness and wellbeing.

'Gym 2 U' looks to buck the trend of the traditional Gym membership mind-set and offers clients the opportunity to enjoy one to one or group training in the comfort of their own homes, offices plus much more.

Their impressive network of professionally qualified trainers will provide a range of fitness programmes for all age groups of clients, who either struggle to make time to get to the gym or perhaps loose motivation.

Gym 2 u clients will benefit from qualified trainers who will not only motivate (as they turn up at your door - no excuses!) they provide fun, personal and flexible training programmes in keeping with client lifestyles.

In addition a group of up to five people can work out together in any session! Even greater motivation!!

Tony Hill, managing director of Love New Media, says, ‘We love nothing better than a challenging communication brief and are excited by the forward thinking from the impressive QMS team.

The brief is to create a new identity and to increase active participation of the ‘Gym 2 U service’, through audience focused design and supporting Marketing services.

The first phase of the branding will be launched with a promotional web site this spring, and will be applied across all printed and online communications.
